Yoga - Meditation for Beginners - Getting Started with CHIT SHAKTI MEDITATIONS by Isha

Yoga - Meditation for Beginners - Getting Started with CHIT SHAKTI MEDITATIONS by Isha

Meditation gives you space between you and your body, between you and your mind. Whatever suffering human beings have known, it has either entered them through the body or through the mind. Do you know any other kind of suffering? There are only two kinds of suffering, isn’t it? Once you have a distance from these two things – this is the end of suffering. Once the fear of suffering is taken away, only then you’re willing to venture into other dimensions of life; otherwise no matter what I tell you, you’re only looking for safety.

It is important to understand WHY before starting off with a habit of meditation.
Refer Isha link to understand What is purpose of meditation from  - Link

Let’s get started with the new habit of meditation  : CHIT SHAKTI MEDITATIONS by Isha:

There are four practices CHIT SHAKTI MEDITATIONS by Isha. You can spread and do one practise each day. Each meditation only lasts 20 minutes, so you can easily incorporate it into your existing schedule.
The names of the meditations are as follows:
Day 1: LOVE
Day 4 : PEACE

Then you can repeat these practices Day 5 onwards

Please make a record of how you feel before, during and after the meditation. Please describe the experience as elaborately as possible, and try to feel and involve yourself completely for those 20 minutes. Do not force anything. If thoughts come to your mind, it’s fine. Don’t be under the impression that thoughts shouldn’t come. Just try as much as possible to focus on what is being told.  Please leave a comment on this blog post.

It’s preferable to do these practices in a room where nobody will disturb you. So, you could do it after your bath in the morning or evening ideally.

You could even do it twice a day or for relief when you’re extremely stressed and tired.

And ideally, don’t meditate after a meal. There should be atleast 2-3 hours gap between your last meal and the meditation. Snacks or stuff like tea/coffee is fine since that won’t make your stomach full.

Thanks to Isha

Kids Indoor Games - Othello by Funskool

Kids Indoor Games - Othello

The object of the game is to have the highest number of your colour discs on the board at the end of
the game.

Each player takes 32 discs and chooses one colour to use throughout the game.
Black places two black discs and white places two white discs as shown in figure 1. The game always begins with this set-up.

A move consists of"outflanking" your opponent's disc(s), then flipping the outflanked disc(s) to, your colour.
To outflank means to place a disc on the board so that your opponent's row ( or rows) of disc( s) is bordered at each end by a disc of your colour. (A "row" is defined as one or.more discs in a continu-· ous straight line - vertical, horizontal or diagonal.)

1. Black always moves first.
2. If on your tum you cannot outflank and flip at least one opposing disc, you miss your tum and your opponent moves again. However, if a move is available to you, you must place a disc.
3. A disc may outflank any number of discs in one or more rows in any number of directions at the same time. See figures 2 and 3.

4.     You may not skip your own colour disc to outflank an opposing disc. (See Figure 4). This disc only outflanks and flips white disc I .
5.     Disc( s) may only be outflanked as a direct result of a move and must fall in the direct line of the disc placed down. (See Figures 5 & 6)

6. All discs outflanked in any one move must be flipped, even if it is to the player's advantage not to lip them all.
7. A player who flips a disc which should not have been turned may correct the mistake as long as the opponent has not made a subsequent move. If the . opponent has alre a d y move d , · 1t · is too 1 ate for change and the disc(s) remain as is.
8. Once a disc is placed on a square, it can never be moved to another square later in the game.
9. If a player runs out of discs, but still has an opportunity to outflank an opposing disc on his or her tum, the opponent must give the player a disc to use. (This can happen as many times as the
player needs and can use a disc.)

When it is no longer possible for either player to move, the game is over. Discs are counted and the player with the majority of his or her colour discs on the board is the winner.
NOTE: It is possible for a game to end before all 64 square are filled.

Players wishing to score their games may do so by determining the margin by which a player won a game. Simply subtract the smaller number of discs from the larger.
Players may also set up their own method of scoring e.g. establishing a pre-determined number of games or points to win by in a series of games.

White Tiger Facts White tigers are widely found in the dense jungle, mangrove and swamps. These species weigh around 140 – 300 kg (309 – 660 lbs). The average lifespan is 10 years in the wild. They become fully mature after 3 – 4 years. The period of gestation lasts for 103 days. Females litter 2 – 3 cubs. The length of the white tiger measures around 1.4 – 2.8 meters (41/2 – 9 feet), with the tail measuring 3 – 4 feet (90 – 120 cm). The newly-born cubs weigh around 1 kg (2 – 3 pounds). These juveniles begin to hunt after 18 months or so. The white tiger showcases unique white coloration which makes it rather more popular in zoos among other exotic animals. According to a rough estimate, around 15,000 Bengal tigers result in a white tiger. The natural breed of white Bengal tigers is too rare to take place. These tigers are bigger in size as compared to the orange species. They have blue-colored eyes, and their fur is pale in color. The mean weight of white tigers measure around 400 – 550 lbs, with the length measuring at 9 – 11 feet. The female tigers lay 1 – 6 cubs and these juveniles stay with their mother for about 2 – 2.5 years of age. White tigers are not found commonly in the wild; however, in captivity they are available in hundreds of numbers. They are the only tigers that are more readily found and are in greater numbers in captivity than in the wild. There are around hundred white tigers all throughout the India. White tigers for the most part are associated with each other. Inbreeding is needed for the recessive gene liable for the white color fact. The average lifespan of white tigers is low as compared to the orange cats perhaps due to the mutated genes. Besides, inbreeding depression can be another reason for the short life expectancy. There is still a debate among scientists about the white tigers in Siberia and their probability of occurrence of recessive gene in Siberian tigers is low. White tigers have similar visionary problems as that of standard orange tigers. Contrary to a belief, white tigers do not have crossed eyes and black striped. There is a general belief that white tigers undergo a wide range of birth defects which is not quite right as many white tigers are as healthy and their orange counterparts. There is a general belief that white tigers rely more on caretakers because of mental disorders which is incorrect. No scientific evidence has been proposed in favor of this idea. Variation in tiger’s behavior is expected and normal and it arises out of their own personality traits. These tigers tend to hunt at night and spend the whole day in their den while sleeping. White tigers are solitary animals.
